Comment: You have to consider why there is nothing mentioned about it in any of the scriptures, not even the Book of Mormon or the D&C.

Hopefully you know what liberty and freedom of speech is, because you guys live in America?
I would think if Jesus ever married, it would be one woman. This is so that we could be faithful to one women and not marry any others. Why would he marry on earth? Couldn't he married in the Celestial Kingdom or had someone already reserved for him?

Rather off topic, but... Lephisto:
Then what are you doing participating on this thread? And in threads like: What about the Holy Ghost's body? Lingering / Wandering Spirits And Lds Experiences Do Mormons Support War? Quetzalcoatl is JesusChrist? Is Cain Bigfoot? Should I go on? ![]()
I don't know who "you guys" are, I live in the American Continent yes. Now if you're referring to the USA, no I don't live there and if I did, what does have to do with freedom of speech on an internet forum? Just admit you was wrong and move on because none of the threads I listed (and more) on which you participated has nothing to do with our "Salvation". See how silly it sounds? |

Hmmm....so Joseph Smith got it all wrong when he instituted plural marriage after he was commanded to do so? (this is meant just as an example, not to discuss plural marriage since we have that thread in the mature board). What makes you think he married only one woman? |
One of the reasons used here to support the idea that Jesus was married while mortal is that Celestial Marriage is required for exaltation.
While that principle is true, it does not necessarily follow that all who do not marry in mortality have fallen short in that respect. Must one grow to maturity in order to reach exaltation? Has it not been explained that sisters who do not have the opportunity for marriage in mortality will not miss out on the highest degree of exaltation just based upon that point?
Yes, the Lord did declare that 'It is finished' before he 'gave up the ghost', but I think that it does not necessarily follow that that statement referred to everything he possibly could have done.
So, the question must be not "Is marriage required for Exaltation?", but "Would it have been a sin, transgression, or imperfection for him to not have been married by 33?" Since I can't answer that definitively in the affirmative, as I know of no sources or proof, I tend to believe that it would not be.
Every young Elder knows of the famous statement by Brigham Young on being a menace to society, but I can't imagine that being more than a state governor and respected church leader trying to better his society, and the happiness of his daughters.
Now, mind you, I am not arguing for or against whether he was married. I am simply arguing for good logic. So far, the evidence makes me lean toward married, but I can't say I am certain. Edited: ecawilson on 22nd Aug, 2009 - 5:56am

Comments: Jesus was married; The church bear[s] his name. We are part of his family as members. The church is his wife.
