This is exciting news for me. Once authenticated I will like to read it myself, it will dispel so many religious illusions that Jesus led a celibate life.
The catholics are already all over this calling it a fake. I don't know what to make of it because it all depends on who wrote it in the first place.
Jesus' wife documentary postponed
The premiere of the Smithsonian Channel's documentary on a papyrus fragment that purports to show Jesus referring to his wife has been delayed until further tests can be done amid doubts about the fragment's authenticity. Ref. Source 3
A lot of nice facts, ones outside of scripture, especially so, it helps to collaborate what is faintly still in Scripture. I have come across pieces here and there over time, but my testimony of Christ wife's and children, comes from the Spirit, more evidence is just icing on the cake, if you will.
I know the Church has always suggested that Christ was married. In the absence of plan language, he was married, one has to use deductive reading and reasoning; if this is true, then this has to also be true. Many times one can detect what is, but what else exist or what is left out and missing.
I always remember from decades ago, what shows up in the New Testament, not sure if this was covered or not in this thread, only read some of it, too much volume to read. The Church of Rome, and the Catholic Church today, lay claim that Peter never married too, which gives rise to the whole Celibate Priest reasoning. Mark1:29,30. Basically it mentions Simon's wife's mother, after reading this, how could Simon, who later became more know as Peter, was not married.
As was already mentioned, they all strived to fulfill the Jewish Hebrew cultural religious codes.
Some time ago, I also came across early writings from our Church, which noted that Joseph Smith and some of the first Apostles were literal descendants of Jesus Christ. Which if you think about, gave them the right as heirs, to open the last dispensation. Supposedly, a Prince David or etc will come forth in the last days, to sit upon the Throne of David again. But if Jesus was married why isn't there clear mention of this in any of the scriptures, its almost like if it was meant to be a secret.
It is not well known, I have read in the past, Church History writing, that mentioned that Joseph Smith and some of then Apostles were actual descendent's of Jesus Christ. Not really surprising, when you realize too, that many descended European royalty. Sorry, don't remember where I read them.
I don't understand what you're saying. What I'm asking about is why doesn't the scriptures say anything about Jesus being married?
