[quote] No doubt. Scary too, to know that the earth will go through such upheavals... If not in my lifetime, certainly in my kids'.[/quote]
I feel very strong about the position of it happening through my lifetime. I am by no means looking forward to this. The Lord says to be of good cheer and stand in Holy Places, I can see handling the Holy Places part, but not sure if I will be of good cheer.
[offtopic]Farseer, About the net thing... *huh2:[/offtopic]
Yes, we read that over and over -- stand in Holy Places. Â And these days that is *so hard* to do. Â Even a simple thing like logging on to the internet to get email and we are bombarded by inappropriate advertising and porn. Â But that's another topic.
I know that I will at least experience a lot of upheaval -- from the earth activity and from world events. Â But I don't think I'll live to see "The End." Â (note my "death date" on the humor board ;D)
In my opinion, of course.

Offtopic but, I don't have cable TV, I get all my news from the internet. |

You know? Or you hope? Remember that although we may not see 'the end', there is enough evil in this world that it almost seems similar to 'the end'. Not that I am calling any bad omens, but remember, no man knows.
[offtopic]Yeah I know what you mean. I was being sarcastic by putting the 'what's that?' icon. By the way, congrats on being the Single and Member of the month twice in a row. Do you have some sort of secret following on here?[/offtopic]
JB said [quote]You know? Or you hope?[/quote] Well there are two ways to view that. I don't hope for the horrible times people will have to face, but I have hope for the Last Days to come -- what joy! But the earth will be groaning and tossing to and fro and volcanoes will erupt, and wars and etc., you know all those things.
And with all that in mind, we have to realize that it all happens in the Lord's time, not ours. So really, the End Times have begun already. it's all just going to get worse and events will happen progressively closer together. How much worse, and how quickly? It's in my Patriarchal Blessing, some of my part in it, so "I know" that I will experience it. Scary and very humbling.
In my opinion, of course.
[offtopic]JB : You are so serious, I can't tell when you are joking with me!... I am very honored to be voted in again -- but I don't know about a "following"...[/offtopic]

That is humbling. I often wonder how 'alone' some of us might be during this time. By 'alone' I refer to natural disasters and war that cuts us off from help.
[offtopic]Yes I am pretty serious, that is because I work all day long. Sorry about that. I will place more smiles so you will know that I am making a funny.[/offtopic]
During the "end" what do the scriptures mean when it says that some will be in a twinkling, two will be in the field and one will be twinkled? Is the twinkled person translated or changed like the three Nephites? Are the three Nephites going to be taken up to appear with Christ when He comes or will they be here waiting for Him? The discussions on this site are so thought provoking. I am truly grateful that I can join in. Thank you!

I'm sure this will be a huge issue. Major highways down the middle of the country, if they are interrupted will cut off east-west, and midwest, north-south, etc. Supply lines to the nation. Communications. It's frightening to think about, and yet I know it's coming and I have to be prepared, not just with a supply of food and a first aid kit, but spiritually prepared to meet with some real horrors. And guns and ammo to defend my food, water, and family. We might be "alone" but we won't be "helpless."
IMO

When I first replied to this thread I totally misunderstood what we were talking about here, I am with it now.
My understanding of the earth's life is that it eventually becomes celestialized, and receives a glory like unto the sun. The Eternal Father himself will dwell here for a time. At the moment it is only in a telestial state, kind of equal to the glory of the stars. But when Christ (The Son of God) comes back it will be terrestrialized, a glory like the moon.
It seems to undergo much the same things that we as humans undergo in the plan of salvation, e.g. A baptism by total immersion. (Already happened around Noahs time) A baptism of fire. (Yet to come but prophesised about). And it receives a degree of glory (or two, one after the other it seems, telestial/terrestrial to celestial) much like we will after we are resurrected and judged.
