Halloween Sunday or Saturday? Who cares?
In Utah's religious environment, this usually means the unofficial, generally observed Halloween trick-or-treat night will be a night earlier - Saturday, Oct. 30. Sure, there may be a few ghosts or goblins still knocking on doors on Oct. 31, seeking treats, but the vast majority will likely be out on the streets Saturday night instead. Ref. Source 1

Comments: Do you think its breaking the Sabbath if I give out candy to the kids that are coming to our home tonight? I had my children do their Halloween rounds yesterday.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with Halloween in church. Of course there should be no sexual themes but other than that it is all good fun.
It will be good if Halloween related costumes could surround uplifting themes, nothing scary or related to demons and the like. We are supposed to be a peculiar people not like everyone else.
Hamblin & Peterson: Are Halloween's roots evil and satanic?
The word "Halloween," Or "Hallowe'en," Dates to about 1745. It's a contraction of "All Hallows' Eve," And it denotes the evening before the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day (I.e., "All Saints' Day") - a time, in the Catholic calendar, for remembering the dead, particularly saints, martyrs, and departed Christian believers. (It's akin to the Jewish "Yizkor" Prayer and the Hindu period of "Pitru Paksha.") Ref. Source 4e
Whatever it used to be its different now. Halloween is about letting your imagination be free for a day and collecting candy. I don't see any harm being done to the church or anyone's spirituality.
I believe it all depends on the type of activities that are engaged during Halloween. If it were just having fun and collecting candy I see no reason why would the Mormon church should prohibit that.
