Kissing Booth? - Page 2

JB says:

QUOTE
Kissing a stranger is not the same as kissing your mom or aunt.

This is true. But it's still not prostitution. "Feeling good" from the kiss is not remotely the same as "sex." (At least not how I remember sex...)

QUOTE
...don't take it that I am fasting and shaving my head to find the answer

Gosh, I hope not!! laugh.gif you are so funny.

That depends on how you define 'sex', is it Clinton's definition? laugh.gif Seriously though, think about it, would your daughter participating in a kissing booth be okay for you? How about if you saw some boys earlier in the day watching some porn, then teasing girls, trying to touch them, and now they in the line waiting to kiss her? You see, you may think nothing of it, but what about the mind of the other person. Why does it have to be a kiss? Something better might be shake the hand of... and they get someone of significance in the community.

Kissing Booth? Studies Doctrine Mormon

JB, I agree that I wouldn't want my daughter (if I had one) participating in a kissing booth. I think it is wrong. Morally wrong. However, I just can't accept that it is prostitution. Not in the literal sense of prostitution being the selling of sex because I can't see this as sex. Yes, kissing is a very important part of sex and can in fact become very intense, but I have never seen it get to that point in a kissing booth. Of course, the only kissing booths I have ever seen are on TV. smile.gif So, I suppose, if the kiss became especially sexual in nature then it could be a form of prostitution after all.

That is just it, why participate in something that you always have to be hoping that will be okay? Think about it. With good things you never have to worry, it is always acceptable. However, questionable things are usually from the darkside and promote and/or ignite future events, even if so subtle. Prostituton by the way is the oldest form of employment and by definition did not always involve sexual acts since not every customer wanted physical participation. Just the act of paying for something that 'feels' good through something other than intellectual enrichment can constitute as a form of prostitution. Please keep in mind.. there is a difference between legal terminology for a word and the streetwise meaning.

No argument here. I wouldn't participate.

I just think, unfortunately, that not all of society, and in fact, not all Church members either, stop to think about things like this. Sometimes they just look at it as innocent fun because that is how it is being portrayed by either the media (movies) or others in society. So, they never really give it much thought.

Kissing Booth?

Kissing is a form of sex in my opinion, there is a very strong sexual conection when two people kiss each other, it is natural. I think the problem is that we think as 'sex' as one thing only. The same applies to the word prostitution, just because most prostitutes sell their bodies for money it doesn't make them the only prostitutes. People in the world prostitute in a way or another all the time, by accepting gifts to get a promotion to flirting with someone that you can get something from, etc. Prostitution is not necessarly connected with sex. In my opinion of course.

Exactly my point LDS_forever. The whole idea of it is to tantalize using the natural emotions that come from within in order to get money, no matter how you look at it that is the ultimate result --> money gain.

Its a form of prostitution if you think about it you're using your body in order to get a monetary reward.
