Since I am not American, I think that American reasons are pretty selfish, even though we know what is Saddam's rule like. I know that we are to support our national laws...Honestly, I like more Pope's reaction, he was calling people to peace( this probably sounds too apostate for American LDS people)

Some will think you are, but I will not since I am not a US citizen either. My country took the stance of the US should follow the UN and not start the war on their 'own'.

Offtopic but,
By the way, share with us your testimony in the thread at the top about Testimony, you may also wish to fill in your profile so the frog will go away.

silvije, welcome to the forum smile.gif. No, I don't think you sound apostate because of your comment. I'm not a US citizen either and it's hard to understand why we should support a war. I don't support any kind of war and I will never will. But I guess that since we are not Americans, we see the whole issue in a different perspective. Yes, we do believe as LDS people in respecting the laws of the land but as Pres. Hinckley said everybody has the right to be against the war too if they wish to express their voice. And that's what I do.
Glad to have you here! smile.gif

Everyone has a right to be against the war that is over now, but who's fault is the war?  And when will the lds outside of the United States stop being stop practicing the US envy and just realize some things, this church follows a living prophet not the pope.  The Pope does not recieve revelation from God, prophet does.  I just like those who oppose President Bush to know, they have a pope on their side and those who support him have an acutal prophet with the Holy Ghost and priesthood authority on ours.

Has anyone opposed to the war spent as much time or more time being critical of Saddam and his sons?  Just curios, why not.  I know you guys all think it is slightly more rotton than Bush, but why spend so much time bashing Bush?  Has the Gospel gone to the people of Iraq following the peace plans and all the other garbage that the UN has made up which really are not peace plans just plans to satify international dictators.  The Gospel is starting to go to Iraq, try stripping off the stubborness of Bush Bashing for one moment and think of that.  Amazing isn't it, the Gospel is now going to Iraq and we have a non member US President to thank more than a few lds members in and outside of the US who want to oppose him.

Let us talk about selfish reasons, American sacrificed their lives, some of them my friends, knowing that we may not be liked by them, knowing that we may never see them again, knowing that we unlike other military's don't establish dictatorships to control a country (and if you have evidence to the contrary please let me know) heck we don't even want their oil (for those of you who don't understand that, we don't want Iraq's oil, in fact hardly any of our oil comes from the mid east despite what communist and terrorist propogandist say)

The ones who have been selfish, the French, the Germans, and Chinese.  Now ironically we talk about the UN as if it is a system of United Free Countries, it is not, China is not a free country, and further, Taiwan has been forbidden to join the UN because of what?  China's opposition, that is why.  China is a commi country, Taiwan is free.  France is a country that is very anti semetic, as is Germany.  In fact in some of the so called "peace protest" in San Fransico, if you walk up and try to oppose what they say, they conclude that you are a jew in two seconds, and they insult you for being jewish.

So let me just take a little moment and post all those opposed to the war that I know about, and their contributions:

1.  Saddam (he actually sponsored some of the peace protest, said he was going to destroy coalitions and alliances against him through propoganda)

2.  The Communist Party of America (They suffer a special case of Bush bashing and were very much agianst the war)

3.  The Socialist Party of Great Britain (Bashed Bush and Tony Blair, had the same ideas as the commi party of America)

4.  China (Keep in mind when we talk about the UN they carry a lot of weight)
5.  France (harbors palistinian terrorist, has a lot of unchaste people)
6.  The Dixie Chicks (after being blasted for their rude comments about Bush, they show up naked on the cover of an American magazine
7.  The Pope (The Leader of the Catholic church, for the sake of not being accused of bashing, I will refer those who want to know more to read what James Talmage has said about them in his Books Jesus the Christ and The Great Apostasy)
8.  The Majority of those who have the same basic habits as the inhabitants of Soddom and Gumora (special example San Fransico)

Those for the war:

1.  The Prophet
2.  Israel
3.  Rush Limbaugh
4.  My mom
5.  Me
6.  Just about every member of the church inside the United States
7.  Most members of the church outside of the United States

We are aware of that :smile.gif but when names of leaders are defended then you need to go to the international board, since this thread mostly focuses on the angle of the Church.
