What is the best webcam?

I am looking into buying a webcam for my computer.  I know that there are many different brand names of webcams on the market.  But some are better than others.  So, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good webcam that I should buy.  I want to be able to buy one and it work for more than a few times with not much trouble out of it.  So, if anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.  :)  Thanks.  :)

For my uses in webcams, keyboard, mice and game controllers, there is only one name... Logitech...

They are an awesome company that has some very awesome products. Very reliable in my experience...

Thanks for that bit of info, Wanlorn.  I will check and see if they carry a Logitech webcam.  Most of my computer hardware is top of the line, so if I can't find that brand.  I will have to look into other brands to see, what will work best and for a good price.

I use an Intel Pocket PC, but they stopped making those. I see a lot of people with really clear cams who say that they use the Logitech ClickSmart 510. That one looks really good and I think I'm going to try and get that soon. You can try and look for a cam like mine on eBay though. They usually have some there but they are very expensive....

Thx Xtra. I will look into the Logitech ClickSmart 510. I am hoping that Santa will hook me up with a decent webcam. If not, I'll just have to wait and see.

Digital Cameras


I want a digital camera for Christmas, but I can't decide which one I want. What digital camera do you have? Do you recommend it? Are there any others that you've heard that are really good?

What the webcam

I have an HP 735 photosmart digital camera. I really couldn't tell you what the price of it was, because I actually got mine free while doing a beta test on it.

I will say this though, I love the camera. It takes great pics, and comes with tons of software to tweak them, resize and what not. It also has a setting where you can record audio and video as well. Although I don't use that setting much. It drains the batteries too quick for me. There's tons of little goodies you can buy to use with it. I am truly needing to buy a memory card to store more pics than what it does.

It has three quality settings: good, better, best. Best leaving you with only 8 pics, Better leaving you with 13 pics, and Good leaving you with about 91 pics you can take. That's just with the regular memory the camera has. But with the memory card, it would hold more pics.

It also has tons of little options for pic speeds as well. I played around alot with it while beta testing it. But I haven't used some of the options since the test, because I really don't have much need for some of them.

It really is a good camera and I reccommend it. I just don't know what the going price is for it.

What the webcam Computer Issues & Video Gaming

Today in the technology market I do not believe there is a such thing as a good or bad web cam as all generally do about the same job. All web cams now will be USB or Firewire and compatability is no longer an issue. Firewire will actually give a more smooth image if you are rendering to your local hard drive but for web usage it is going to be compressed to a point that it really doesn't matter about speed with internet being the slowest piece of the puzzle. I do like Logitec products myself.
