Pekka Haavisto, a Green MP, said in a book launched Tuesday that he would consider joining the Evangelical-Lutheran Church if the church began to marry same-sex couples. "There has been some reflection in our family too as to whether a church wedding would become timely if legislation changed in Finland along Swedish lines," Haavisto wrote. Haavisto and Antonio Flores were one of the first couples in Finland to register their partnership in 2002 when Finland began recognising same-sex couples. Source: Helsinki Times
