What is your review for the entertainment value of the movie called, "The Hobbit"?

Bilbo Baggins the Hobbit was just minding his own business, when his occasional visitor Gandalf the Wizard drops in one night. One by one, a whole group of dwarves drop in, and before he knows it, Bilbo has joined their quest to reclaim their kingdom, taken from them by an evil dragon named Smaug. The only problem is that Gandalf has told the dwarves that Bilbo is an expert burglar, but he isn't"¦.

Hobbit The

The Hobbit is a great movie. Loyal to the books, while also being able to stand on it's own. You are introduced to the dwarves of the company and a young Hobbit is whisked away on an adventure. Many things, such as the songs and certain scenes from the movie are taken directly out of the book (Riddles in the Dark being one of the better pieces taken from the book). We hear a lot of information about Thorin and the Orks that hunt them, who are led by Azog the Defiler, also known as The Pale Orc, and throughout the movie, this Orc and his followers are trying to hunt down Thorin. I also really liked the Smaug reveal at the end. We saw it in cinemas, so seeing him up close (And only showing his eye) showed how massive he actually was without revealing much at all. There's some exposition and set up for the Lord of the Rings, and whereas in the books, we just gloss over the bits where Gandalf is away, in the movie, we actually see where he goes. Overall, if you liked the Hobbit book, you will also like this. The goblin tunnels were also an interesting sequence. The Goblin King was a funny character, which he wasn't meant to be, but this I didn't mind. Injecting a bit of humour into a movie like the Hobbit makes it better, not bogged down by jokes and references.
