Now one thing I never understood... Why does Johnny Storm say, "Flame On" in order to light up or is that just for effect?

Four Fantastic

I don't think that he requires the use of the words to flame on, I think he just does it because it sounds cool. The comic is full of times in which he bypassed that phrase in emergency situations.

My favorite FF storyline has to be when they fought Berserker or Galacticus. They always take on the big boys. They were also involved heavily in the X-man series Onslaught.

I agree, he says it just for affect. My favorite parts of the series are when something wierd comes through the negative zone. Sure they can go up against the big boys, but what do you do with something whose very existence breaks the laws of physics?

What about poor Ben Grimm, he has had the power to control his form numerous times, it like just when he gets comfortable being the thing, some mean writer has to give him his humanity back, so he gets a taste of a normal life, only to have it ripped away all over again.

Four Fantastic

The most interesting thing about the Fantastic Four is they weren't much good without each other. Its almost like in every situation they encountered needed all of them unlike other super heroes.

Fantastic Four

It's sad to hear the Human Torch has been written out of the Super Hero team. They all matched each other and meshed. They aren't that good without each other either.

Fantastic Four Comic / Anime PBP RPGs & Reviews

I've never actually read the comics, but they seem to be getting progressively worse as time goes on Fan4Stick seemed like a terrible movie. I've also seen the anime. I have heard about the Onslaught story. Didn't Onslaught absorb Franklin Richards? I like the idea of them needing to work together in their stories. Really, they're super heroes, but they're a family first. A dysfunctional family, but a family none-the-less. The Incredibles are a similar team, they even have similar villians (Mole Man and the Underminer are pretty similar don't you think?). Ben Grimm is really interesting as a character, as his rock form makes it hard for him to interact with the world at large. This has often brought him into conflict with the team, despite Reed's numerous attempts to fix him. Sue Storm seems like the heart of the team, the one that's always there for everyone, but at the same time, can hold her own and break them up if they fight. She might be the most powerful of the four. Reed is the brain of the group. It's his intelligence that often gets them through. They killed off Johnny because he's the least needed member of the team. He's the one that usually gets them into trouble, instead of out of it. They could afford to kill him off. Those are my thoughts, anyway.
