Women Have a Great Influence for Good
Mormon Doctrine / Teachings
"Too frequently, women underestimate their influence for good. Well could you follow the formula given by the Lord: 'Establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God' (D&C 88:119)."In such a house will be found happy, smiling children who have been taught, by precept and example, the truth. In a Latter-day Saint home, children are not simply tolerated, but welcomed; not commanded, but encouraged; not driven, but guided; not neglected, but loved."
Thomas S. Monson,, "The Spirit of Relief Society, Ensign," May 1992, 101-102
What is wrong with the women staying at home? If I were to get married I would want my wife staying at home raising our children if possible. I wouldn't want the school systems raising our children. I believe this would also give me more say so by discussing our childrens' problems and trying to find solutions for them. I just don't think that a man can fulfill the nurturing needs for the family that a women can. Or at least I cant.
This society trains us that it is oppressive to a women's rights to have her stuck at home. I don't really view it as stuck at home and would encourage a business profession if she liked.
The womens' right movement has been led by a bunch of man hating lesbians, and frankly I am sick of it.
I will agree that a womens movement should have happened, but not the one we got.
McKay your reponses are usually one sentence wonders and I would like more elaboration on why you disagree with the prophets on this?
