Can Tarot/Palm Reading be Innocent Fun? Added to that we can ask the same of reading your astrology in the daily newspaper is wrong.
What are your thoughts? Some may say that doing it is fine once you do not take it seriously, bu then again, if it is not to be taken seriously, what fun is it?
What can I say? do I have to confess that I have done it before, that I have bought several books about it and more? :-[ I always found it to be fascinating, I guess that the mystical part of me always carry me to that side...after years joining the Church I discovered that the Church thinks that's wrong. Really, I never thought was such a big deal, but with the years my interest in these last are fading. But yes, I do feel sometimes to do certain things concerning Tarot and Horoscope. :-/ But I guess self-control is something that must be prevailed and common sense and of course, the will of God.
I was told once that if you do it for fun and don't take it serious and not for every little thing then it is exactly that, for fun. It's the point that you are obsessed with it and use it for every little decision that it becomes dangerous and should not be approached.
The scriptures say that the stars in the heavens are "for signs" and "for seasons." (Genesis 1:14, Moses 2:14, Abr 4:14)
So I do believe that there is some credence to astrology. The problem I have with it is that it isn't used or learned or given by divine authority. I don't think anyone on the earth really knows how to use or interpret the signs, and therefore we should avoid astrology.
The wisemen watched for a star to tell them of the birth of the Savior. That's not the same thing as a horoscope, though.
Tarot cards I believe are witchcraft/sorcery/occult tools, devised by humans and not divinely given. Palm reading may have some credence, but, again, from whence comes the knowledge?
All in my opinion, of course.

I think the problem is that if you never submit to a card reading, you won't have to worry about taking it seriously. I think it is like never drinking. Maybe you could drink socially and never over drink, but how do you know that for sure. Maybe you will become an alcoholic. Or, maybe you will just over drink once and end up doing something that you regret for the rest of your life. If you never drink, you can never over drink.
So, maybe you can get a card reading just for fun. However, maybe you will begin to believe some of what is said. We have a way of making things happen in our lives when we expect things to work out a certain way.
I think it is best to stay away entirely.
These things; tarot reading, palmistry, voodoo, astrology and whatever other name they may come under are all counter to the Plan of Salvation and should be avoided just as one would avoid smoking. You cannot smoke just for "fun".
I agree with JB for sure. From what I understand Nimrod was the one who started Paganism
right after the flood. He was angry with God and wanted to make his own rules. Horoscopes,Tarot
cards, and all pagan traditions can be traced back to him (and his wife Semeramis the heathen goddess).
