A Chinese cargo ship has gone missing in the Japanese island prefecture of Okinawa and some survivors from the vessel have been rescued by Japan's coastguard, China's state-run media said on Thursday.
The Panamanian-registered ship went missing south of Iriomote island early on Wednesday, Xinhua news agency said, citing an official from the Chinese consulate in the Japanese city of Fukuoka.
It said the ship had 25 crew members but did not specify how many had been rescued. (AFP)
