The availability of The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure, a self-published electronic book, calls into question whether the online retailer has any procedures -- or even an obligation -- to vet books before selling them. What's also sickening is that this book was published in the first place. Amazon is at fault for carrying it, but who the heck published it? How many were sold through Amazon before they pulled it from the shelves?
"Misunderstood"? I don't think so.
The saddest part is that it will be available again, quietly, on Amazon and through other major retailers without anyone knowing it. Because the media have a very short attention span and very little long-term memory. It won't be completely banned because of free speech laws.
