The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has received a "temporary certificate of occupancy," paving the way for its first prayer service on Friday after a two-year battle.
Since the expansion project was approved in 2010, the construction site has been vandalized several times, including by an arsonist. "Not welcome" was spray-painted on a sign announcing the project.
The plans included a 52,000-square-foot structure with a mosque, gym, playground and cemetery. Ref. CNN
