Chief Justice John Roberts Speaks On Constitution

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts discussed the ingenuity behind the Constitution of the United States in an address at Brigham Young University last week.
Chief Justice Roberts was confirmed by the United States Senate as the 17th Chief Justice of the United States on Sept. 29, 2005. At the time he was only 50 years old, the youngest Chief Justice since John Marshall who was confirmed in 1801 at the age of 45. Last Tuesday, he addressed students, staff, and community members who came both to hear his speech and ask him questions during the 40-minute question and answer session that followed.
He began his remarks by referencing a devotional address given by BYU's President Cecil O. Samuelson in early September. President Samuelson encouraged everyone to study the Constitution, and Justice Roberts repeated his suggestion.
"For all Americans the actual words of the Constitution are vitally important," Roberts said. "I would therefore like to suggest that you not only read about the Constitution, but that you read the Constitution itself. It is a short, but powerful document."

Yes the US constitution is a single most powerful document. It has governed this great land now for over 200 years. I think it is a very well written document when you consider its age and the fact it it is still relevant today makes our fore fathers some very interesting people.
