Sorry for the 12 hours of downtime yesterday, it seems that the server had a glitch in the system (nothing on our part). I was really mad, if you want to followup: https://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=190925
you can also use this link if you see we are offline for some reason.
As a backup, if we are ever offline you can get me via our instant messengers --> https://www.bordeglobal.com/livechat/ of course you will need to take these down ahead of time.
All of them are the same
Well like I always say, they are all the same. Around 12:30AM EST the server crashed because of a bad sector which resulted in downtime for about 5 hours. Fortunately no data was lost and it happened during the slow period, nevertheless I do apologise to those of you who like to browse during those early hours. Thanks for understanding, but it was beyond our control.
Database Error?
Sometimes you might be accessing the forum and get the little dog telling you that there is a database error. This is not our fault, it originates from the server. Just wait about a minute or so and click 'reload' or 'refresh' on your browser and it should be fixed. Our server says they are working on that problem, but you know how things go
Server was down yesterday during the morning period due to hosting problems... everything was restored later yesterday afternoon. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you ever need to contact me and the site is down please use bordeglobal@yahoo.com
Since I have joined last month I have not seem any downtime while I have been trying to surf. I notice that you have not posted here since march 04, have you finally found someone that could do something incredible? I don't believe that any web host can guarantee a certain amount of down time. I have had good luck with a few but they have let me down in the end. It was really awesome when I had control over my own web servers. The only down time I really experienced while I administered my own servers were time when my T1 went down. I did have redundant servers so if one ever went down the other would pick up and continue. It also worked with load balancing so I never had to worry about having too much load on one server or the other (unless one went down). I did experience a rather slow connection speed compared to some of the bigger sites that have much more than a T1 to power them. I looked into renting rack space at the telephone office so that I could use their T3 however I found that this wasn't economical at all. ($700.00 per U while I ran 2 4U servers. $5600.00 per quarter was a bit much.)
