Remember text computer games like Zork? These interactive fiction games were limited to 128K computers and so not more than 30 pages of a novel could be developed but the whole idea of a computer responding to your text actions was exciting for the time. That and graphic intense games are mostly why it died out. Back then there wasn't the kind of CPU power and graphics capability they have now.
