Leirgri attempts to open the door, it is not locked, but it creaks ever so loudly! Fortunately no one is on the other side, but it is dark, cool and damp. You walk north towars the door opposite. As you do you passby what seems to be some sort of underground stream to the right, but you do not inspect it in any detail.

At the door of #5 you cautiously open it and find that it is also desolate, but you are happy because that door creaked just as loud as the last. This cave room is larger than the others you have visited and forms the same shape as the last. There is a door to the north and an exit to the west. The exit has a light sorce coming from it, most likely a torch on the wall, but you are not sure.

You look around the room and find light garments that seem to be some kind of ceremonial clothing folded in one corner of the room. Next to it appears to be candles some flint, 6 torches and some kind of herb. Other than that the room seems to be empty.

While in the room you notice that the chants have stopped.

The party takes what they think are useful items. They become jittery because of the sudden silence, but as they move cautiously down the corridor towards the intersection of passageways they hear the chanting again.

All bunched together now they realize that the cave room known as #6 on the map must contain a lot of people.

The chanting stops. You then hear the voice of a man speaking in a strange tongue, he sounds as if he is addressing a group and is speaking in an authoritative way.

You decide to go into what seems to be the largest room on the map. The passageway is well lit by two torches that burn on either side before the steps. At the steps Chapolin can hear the strange words that comes from the mouth of one man. You do not understand it, but you feel for certain that it is not candy he is trying to sell.

Chapolin and the rest of the group proceed down the steps. You can see people as you come down, they are listening to someone or something, you suppose it is the man who speaks the strange language. They are dressed in the robes that you saw earlier. You think to yourself that putting on the ceremonial clothing might have helped you to blend in, but too late now.

Chapolin tries to slip in the room to see just how many souls are there... he makes out from a quick glance about 15 men dressed in robes listening to a man in a fancy costume speaking from some steps. You feel that you can take on this group and make yourselves ready for an attack!

Storming the Snake Pit Temple

You enter the room with weapons drawn and everyone is shocked! You are in a large cavern that is about 45' x 45' with cieling being equally as high. The surrounding area is well lit by torches and candles. You see that there are more people in the room than Chapolin saw from his vanatage point. No time to count! You cannot look at much else as combat is already taking place with two special guards moving at you first. It seems that you have interrupted their ceremony and they are not happy about it.

Leirsgri finds himself in the room first and attacks... he hits both guards quickly, but they soon recover and attack back... one misses but just berely, the other manages to cause a small wound (-1 hp).

Liete finds herself in next for action and is amazed to see that those dressed in ceremonial attire are in fact armed! Liete manages to score two hits, the first is fatal but the next only wounds slightly. Liete is dumbfounded by the zeal these strangers have as they attack so furiously and wound her greatly! (-3 hp)

Chapolin is approached quickly but he makes for a quick blow... it is blocked! A dagger slices through the heart of Chapolin... he falls to the ground. (Chapolin is dead)

Enelya enters the room with bow and arrow but soon finds that the distance is too close for that kind of weapon, so she drops it immediately in fright and begins to move backwards... while two of the worshippers stab but miss!

Excavon is next in line and swings his short swords in a unique motion but misses badly. A worshipper trusts at Excavon and misses... but the other follows through and with deadly precision makes Excavon a memory... (Excavon is dead)

Kitana now follows through but misses badly to the point that she almost stumbbles. This gives the worshippers chance to attack quickly and they stab with such butcher like savagery that Kitana falls like a log. (Kitana is dead)

Omega now in the room is scared beyond compare, nevertheless he has reached this far and attacks! Omega is too slow, his attack is immediately thwarted and he is made to be at peace. (Omega is dead)

The group is quickly reduced to three and they push back to the entrance so that no one is behind. Leirsgri is enraged, Liete fears that the end is near and Enelya seems to be in a shocked attitude, but she does notice a couple of short swords on the floor. She would have to risk dodging a 'free' blow to her head to get it, but at least she would have a hand weapon, then again running seems prime, but where would she run? You are quickly being surrounded.

GM: Say what you will do now. For those of you wishing to create a character again please note the updates concerning the creation of multiple characters.

The Game Master says...

Leirsgri shouts out to retreat while Enelya moves to grab a short sword and fight the zealots. They try to swing at her, but she manages to dodge them. Eneyla looks for a break and runs into the hallway leading to #6, Liete follows Eneyla and Leirsgri is closely behind.

Near the cross section of the hallway they divide into three giving just enough room for a one by one fight. As planned they all the worshippers pursue with loud screams as their leader shouts in anger to kill you.

Eneyla thinks to use a bow to catch them on the way up but in this delay a worshipper is already upon her and swings and misses. She fights back in fear for her life and takes the worshipper out.

Leirsgri fights but neither you nor your new found enemy are able to make a hit.

Liete fears that her long sword is too long for a corridor and she runs into room #3 since it is the only room large enough to handle her battling with this weapon. Two worshippers happily follow and attack! Just as Liete arrives into room #3 she raises her heavy sword, but unfortunately her foes are upon her and she becomes the next victim. (Liete is dead)

Unknown to Lersgri and Enelya they are alone. Now the battle rages on...

Leirsgri and Enelya fight on and take out two more worshippers.

GM: Due to the number of attackers I will compress the battle.

Leirsgri fights hard and manages to take out a few of them, but the tightness of the corridor restricts him greatly and one of the worshippers manages to stab him, making a big wound (-5hp).

Enelya amazingly takes out the same number as Leirsgri, but remains untouched. She begins to think how lucky she is, but for how long...

You both notice that these worshippers seem to have a very high morale and seeing their comrades fall does not seem to make them scared at all...

Leirsgri fights on and soon discovers that with his mighty strength and speed he cannot fight forever and soon subcums in battle and falls. (Leirsgri is dead)

Enelya fights on, but soon sees that worshippers are flooding the room from door #7, she quickly thinks that this must mean that Leirsgri is dead and fear takes her... she is tried too and will be fighting at least three worshippers at a time at a disadvantage.

She fights on and does well, but it is just too much and the worshippers soon take her over (Enelya is dead)

GM: The game is now over, please look over the updated rules before creating new characters. Make sure to add what you think went wrong in the journal. This camp and thread is now closed.
