Japanese singer Silvia dies of cancer at 52

Silvia, a Japanese member of singing group "Los Indios & Silvia," died of lung cancer Sunday at a Tokyo hospital, her family said Monday. She was 52.
Silvia, a native of Osaka Prefecture, whose real name was Rieko Matsuda, joined the veteran group in 1979. The group released the same year its hit song "Wakaretemo Sukinahito" (Person I Love Even After We Broke Up) which was long-loved and sang by many people in the wake of the karaoke boom in Japan. Silvia won a long-seller prize at the Japan Record Awards in 1980. (Japan Today)
