Bloody thinks very deeply inside how cocky and arrogant this Stranger guy is... she doesn't want to lose control or say something that she may regret, therefore she lets Labrat do all the talking this time:
""Listen, if we are going to work together, you are going to have to trust us and we need to feel like we can trust you. We want to help, but we aren't willing to take on a job unless we have some kind of assurance it is possible to do it successfully without being caught. If you are unsure of us, you can easily check up on us to find out if what we claim to be able to accomplish is true and you will find we never fail when we accept a job. It is apparent to me that you know a lot about us already so, I don't think it would be difficult for you to check up on us, if you haven't already."
She pauses from her point and then continues...
"Now, how are we to know you can be trusted? How do we know you won't set us up so that we get caught after we finish our assignment so you won't have to pay us anything? Surely you don't think we would take a job like this without some kind of assurance that it can be done successfully without our being caught and without some kind of assurance that we will be paid?"
The Stranger shakes his head and replies very calmly...
"You came to me, I did not come to you, those are my terms. If you live or die in this mission will be determined by your own skill and planning.
With what seems to be an emphasis in his voice he then exclaims...
"...But you said you are experienced didn't you? Now I am not going to continue this conversation unless you agree."
With his hat covering his eyes you can scarcely see what he may be thinking. You wonder who this guy is and what would be the consequences of walking away.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Bloody looks at the Stranger tongue in cheek and says,
"Listen, I don't like the tone of your voice, you want a job done? Then you know the terms already. You're the one who needs something from us, you have a lot of disadvantages, you're not from here, you talk weird, and you have an attitude, you will not get a room of people willing to do what you wanna do without much information. I don't know how this works in your world, but this is how it works in my world. You have the choice of accepting our terms we said before and pay us 10,000 each or forget about it."
Labrat who was quiet until that time says,
"We need 10,000 credits each and some kind of assurance that we will be paid or you need to find someone else."
Bloody and Labrat looks at the Stranger without no fear... they wait for his answer.
The Stranger says, "Then our business here is done." He then raises from his seat and proceeds out the exit.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Over the course of the next few days you move in together because you feel that the Stranger may make some kind of attack on your lives. You go to the bar each night and observe the Stranger from a distance always... you see him coming in at a certain time, having a drink and then leaving after an hour. You notice that no one seems to notice him except you.
One particular night you see a man with a couple of stout looking thugs sit opposite to the Stranger, they watch the Stranger as though they have a 'bone to pick'. You believe a fight is going to ensue as the man and thugs rise from their table and move over to where the Stranger sits. After what actually seems to be a formal discussion you begin to disbelieve the casual way in which they talk. The Stranger seems to be somewhat happy about their conversation then he leaves with a tip of his hat.
The men are now laughing and seem to be in a mode of giving congratulations to each other. You wonder what it is all about, but at the same time you are apprehensive about asking questions.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Bloody and Labrat are very suspicious about what just transpired before their eyes. Labrat interrupts the silence of observation and says, "I wonder if he hasn't hired these two guys to kill us. I think maybe we should have our weapons close at hand. You know, in our pockets or under our coats while we sit here watching these guys. Then when they leave we probably should follow them, with our weapons at the ready but concealed."
Bloody agrees moving her head and adds, "I think its the same job he offered us to do, he offered it to these guys (that's why these men were congratulating to each other and they were so happy) now, this is the best opportunity we have to see who is the guy that the Stranger wants to kill, we don't know if he even planned to get rid of us first! So let's watch out, let's have our weapons in our clothes, I am always armed. Let's stick in the bar for a while and see what these guys are up to and if they leave we could follow them."
You continue to observe the thugs. They drink, have a couple of girls near to them, they laugh and make merry. At a late hour they are somewhat drunk but not dyfunctional. It is six of them now (including the girls), they leave the bar an stroll off to a local motel. You watch from a distance, nothing secretive about them. It is late (1am) and you ponder your fate.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Labrat and Bloody are still concerned about the men and so they follow them and their girls to the motel. On the way there you meet with a person who is more than curious about what you are doing...
GM: Reaka has now joined your party and you may wish to discuss your current plan with him.
Reaka joins your group. You decide to follow the guys. They go to a less than desirable motel in an equally less than desirable location in the city that is not too far from the club. It seems that they are already checked in as you notice they pass the propritor on the way to another part of the motel (probably to their rooms). You decide to cross the street and speak with the propritor to get the exact room number of the guys you are following.
As you cross the street you notice a police hover craft is patrolling the neighborhood. The craft is fitted with a large spot light. You notice it shines on you as you cross the street and enter into the motel. You approach the propritor as the hovercraft parks just outside the motel. You stumble as to what to do next and if it would be a wise thing to pose as the police at the moment.
GM: Say if you wish to proceed with your plan.
Labrat, Bloody and their new friend see the lights of the police car and decide to slowly leave the motel, they chat with each other so the policemen will not suspect anything but just friends hanging around. As you step outside on to the pavement you notice that vehicle is emitting a beam of light straight at you. You are being scanned!
You suddenly hear, "Stop where you are!"
You have the feeling they are picking up your weapons.
GM: Say what you will do now, you may choose to run or obey the orders of the police and hope all goes well or you may have another plan.
Bloody looks at Labrat and Reaka and whispers,"Stay calm and look at them straight to the eyes when they ask you a question so they know we are saying the truth".
Bloody raises her both hands up and says,"Any problem, officer?"
Out comes two officers of the law from the craft. They are fully dressed as though they were going to war and you are glad that you did not choose to raise your hand or gun to them. With a smirk on his face one of the officers asks,
"We are looking for some assailants and thought maybe you might know them"
He then shows you his handheld computer which displays three 3D graphics of the same thugs that you saw in the club! One of the officers then says...
"Have you seen these?"
GM: Say what you will do now?
