Restaurant group's lobbying, campaign contributions spiked under Craig Miller
Florida Politics
During congressional candidate Craig Miller?s time as chairman of the National Restaurant Association, the organization?s efforts lobbying Congress spiked and it gave a record amount of campaign cash, federal records show.
Miller, a Republican, dropped a U.S. Senate bid to run for a congressional seat that includes St. Johns, Flagler, Putnam and Volusia counties. Bolstered by an endorsement from former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, the association?s former executive director, the contours of Miller?s campaign have been defined by an outsider, anti-Washington tone.

It's rare for presidential candidates to thrust themselves into primary races for other offices, but Romney said Mack is a friend. In a statement, the former Massachusetts governor also said Mack is a strong conservative who would oppose the "borrow and spend ways of Washington."
