Condo prices surged in Salt Lake area in 2007

The Utah housing market is one of the strongest in the nation, and that trend is especially evident in Salt Lake City's thriving condominium market.
In the past year, the average sales-price increase in the 11 zip-code areas for Salt Lake City ranged from a modest 4 percent in the east-side Emigration Canyon area to a whopping 103 percent in the Foothill/Parleys area. More than half of the zip codes in Salt Lake City saw an increase in condo sales prices in the range of 10 percent to 20 percent, said Babs De Lay, a real estate agent for Urban Utah Homes and Estates.

Utah seems to be one of the states where the houses still quite expensive despite recession, of course you have some affordable ones but the areas where you can find them is not worth it.
