Truck rams into office of Ibaraki assembly candidate, 1 dead

A 4-ton truck rammed into the campaign office of a candidate running for a seat in the Ibaraki prefectural assembly on Sunday in Ishioka in the eastern Japanese prefecture, killing one man, police said.
The police are searching for the truck's driver, who was wearing a ski mask, on suspicion of killing Toshio Toita, 62, an uncle of the candidate.
The truck backed into the office Sunday morning and then hit Toita, who tried to stop the vehicle, as it fled the scene, according to the local police. (Japan Times)
