I don't know what is more sick, the fact that the person charged with this horrible murder is a convicted murderer or the fact that the MOTHER of this poor baby does not believe this man did it "on purpose". It is amazing to me how many brainless women are out there willing to stand by a man that KILLED their own children. It's absolutely disgusting!

I do not understand how a person can burn a baby this bad. I would never have boiling water anywhere near a baby if I can help it. IF I am cooking I will make sure no baby is in the kitchen at the time and I would not be carrying a pot of hot boiling water if a baby is near. This guy did this on purpose and he should pay.
Ahhh...good...the report comes from out of Dallas. That means Texas. In being the top state for actual applications of Capital Punishment, I am sure that this guy's excuses will be greatly received and his sentence will be just. I suspect that withing a decade he will have the choice of lethal injection or hanging. Too bad being burned to death isn't on the menu...

You know the disturbing part of all is the mom of the child believing that the guy didn't do it on purpose (and the guy is a convicted felon!).

Mom isn't a prize either and if she left the child in the care of a Simmons (convicted felon), I think she should be charged with endangerment of a child for if anything just to make her think for a while on her responsibilities as a parent.

Vincenzo I was talking with a friend of mine who is a cop and he was telling me that the reason they don't usually charge the mother (like in this case) is because it's really hard to prove it in court. I say bologna!

Oh, and not to mention the crocadile tears on TV of a mother having her child stripped from her due to her neglect...it is just bad publicity for the police and the DA. However, if she knew he was a convicted felon and that could be proved in court, I would say that have a case. But if there were a state where they would be willing to charge the mother, Texas would be it!

Just caught this article where the mother says she knew the killer was a drug dealer but not a convicted killer. While they haven't charged her, I can see a DA loving to have her explain that drug dealers are great role models and baby-sitters but killers....NO WAY...NOT A KILLER. Gotta draw that line somewhere...
