Feathertail Introduction

While I belonged to the LDS church I wrote things about what it was like to be autistic and LDS. I have been asked by [JB] to "share my thoughts" about these things here. I am making an introductory post because it is a prerequisite to my doing so. Sorry to take up your time.

Welcome to the site and thanks for taking up my invitation. I did not realize you are no longer LDS but that does not matter because I still will like your input. Additionally, we also have the non-religious Board called Psychology, Philosophy, & Special Needs where we talk about the approaches to Autism. If you ever have questions about the way the Community operates you can ask in here, your Intro Thread. Thanks.

It is not offensive. I already replied to it, but we do have Rules about posting anything s-xual in nature in the Public Boards so you will understand that we cannot go into that part much, but I am more interested in you and how you are coping. For instance what are your specific Autistic traits, what do you have trouble dealing with, etc. Nothing confidential, just general things to help me understand you better. Thanks.

I agree with that before you edited it out, however - Please keep this Topic: "Mormon Autistics - Autistic LDS" to Autism and not our Forum Rules or other off topics. You do not understand the purpose for them because you have chosen to isolate your participation to this Thread alone. I tried to invite you to other Threads dealing with Autism but you also rejected it. If you have a question here about the Community then I ask that you please ask them in your Intro Thread after reading the Constructive Posting Policy.

You seem to mention a lot about your negative feelings towards being in a community like this within your writing, you even dedicated a couple of paragraphs to it as an illustration. If you feel irritated by the Community then you are free to delete your account at anytime (it can be done via link in "My Controls").

My invitation to you was based on the following:

1. Something I read when you were a Member of the Church in which you were looking for help and talked about your life with Autism
2. You probably didn't realize that you could Post as a Guest and did not have to join however, because you did it is important that you abide by the Rules.
