Believe it or not my favorite RPG is Final Fantasy for the NES. Yeah I know it looks tacky when compared to FFX but it was the first RPG game I ever played and I loved it. It took me weeks to finish it the first time, but boy was I excited when I did. I sometimes wish I still had the game. My husband hates those kind of games. He says he doesn't like the menu driven fighting, he'd much rather just be able to go slash the guy. His favorite game, that's not a driving game, is Metal Gear Solid. I think he has played them all.

i'd have to say that my favorite rpg game (though my knowledge of these games are limited) would be Icewindale, the first one. though i have heard the Neverwinter Nights is alot better, so i guess i'll go borrow someone's copy first.

Dragon Warrior 4 by far. What's amazing is that I didn't even care that the AI takes control of the most of the group in Chapter 5 (basically that's all characters that are not the hero). That's a testament to what the rest of the game has. Great exploration, great world, and a spiffy story to boot.

my newest favorite is now Fable. brand new for the xbox, though i'm not sure if it's on shelves for the public quite yet? it's got an awesome story line and awesome graphics!

My favorite is Ghotic... the way that you develop you character is on my taste and don't even start me to tell you about the story ....

Whats Your Favourite Rpg?

Yes. Gothic is my favourite RPG too. Gothic I had a perfect story and character development was just amazing. You can feel the fear of the character when you start the game. And for instance when someone says : "Don't go in to the forest at night." You do this until you are sure you are strong enough to face the beasts that lie there.

Gothic II's gameplay and graphics engine were improved slightly but story of Gothic I wasn't repeatable. They (Piranha Bytes) have created a very good story but it couldn't be matched with Gothic I.

And now Gothic III is on the way (slowly) and much official info that has been given out is amazing. (One of the facts I remember right now is that it will use Motion FX ... or something like that - i'm not 100% sure about the name. Motion FX is a big step forward in animation and face expessions and such things. It can be seen in Half Life 2. Also the engine will be greatly improved but it will still give you the good old Gothic feeling.)
