Here's an interesting comparison, one that is confirmed by https://www.snopes.com/ as TRUE:

"LOOK OVER THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE FOLLOWING TWO HOUSES AND SEE IF YOU CAN TELL WHICH BELONGS TO AN ENVIRONMENTALIST HOUSE # 1: A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern "snow belt," either. It's in the South. HOUSE # 2: Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American Southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing groundwater through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape. HOUSE # 1 (20 room energy-guzzling mansion) is outside of Nashville,Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist (and filmmaker) Al Gore. HOUSE # 2 (4 BR 4000 sq.ft.model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas, also known as "the Texas White House," it is the private residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush. So whose house is gentler on the environment? |

Supreme Court Rules EPA Can Regulate Greenhouse Gases Linked to Global Warming in Defeat For Bush Administration
The Supreme Court has ruled that the Environmental Protection Agency has the authority to regulate the emission of "greenhouse gases" linked to global warming. In a 5-4 decision, the court ruled that the EPA violated the Clean Air Act by improperly declining to regulate new-vehicle emissions standards to control the pollutants that scientists say contribute to global warming. Report: Global "Climate Divide" Growing Between Rich and Poor Countries
The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is set to release a report this Friday that is expected to underline that while global warming is changing physical and biological systems on every continent, Western countries must take extra steps to address the growing "Climate Divide." We speak with New York Times environmental reporter, Andrew Revkin.

No less than four times in the past 100 years, scientists have been trumpeting the idea of a new ICE AGE, not global warming. Here's a Time article from 1974:
QUOTE |
As they review the bizarre and unpredictable weather pattern of the past several years, a growing number of scientists are beginning to suspect that many seemingly contradictory meteorological fluctuations are actually part of a global climatic upheaval. However widely the weather varies from place to place and time to time, when meteorologists take an average of temperatures around the globe they find that the atmosphere has been growing gradually cooler for the past three decades. The trend shows no indication of reversing. Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age. Telltale signs are everywhere -from the unexpected persistence and thickness of pack ice in the waters around Iceland to the southward migration of a warmth-loving creature like the armadillo from the Midwest.Since the 1940s the mean global temperature has dropped about 2.7° F. Although that figure is at best an estimate, it is supported by other convincing data. When Climatologist George J. Kukla of Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory and his wife Helena analyzed satellite weather data for the Northern Hemisphere, they found that the area of the ice and snow cover had suddenly increased by 12% in 1971 and the increase has persisted ever since. |

Does this report make any sense? The poorest of the poor will be affected by anything.

The poorest of the poor are already affected by adverse weather - what has global warming to do with changing that? Do they say anything about how to mitigate the effects of climate change on the poorest of the poor?
No.
Why? Because it's not politically expedient. Because The Powers That Be have to dangle something tragic before your eyes in order to make their position an emotional one, rather than logical or practical.

As we have clearly seen on this forum, "Global Warming" is the religion du jour of the Left. It adherents have their "scriptures", "prophets", and "evangelists". Anything written by the current "high priest" (Al Gore) is scripture.
Any scientist who opposes the religion is considered, and treated as, an Apostate. Any normal person who disagrees with the religion is stupid, unenlightened, or a "shill" for Big Oil.
Just as there are 5 pillars of faith in Islam, there are 4 pillars of faith in Global Warming:

1) The Earth is warming in an unprecedented fashion 2) This warming is entirely manmade 3) This warming will soon accelerate to a level approximating "Instant Karma" 4) Warming is bad |
QUOTE |
Recently many people have said that the earth is facing a crisis requiring urgent action. This statement has nothing to do with science. There is no compelling evidence that the warming trend we've seen will amount to anything close to catastrophe. What most commentators-and many scientists-seem to miss is that the only thing we can say with certainly about climate is that it changes. The earth is always warming or cooling by as much as a few tenths of a degree a year; periods of constant average temperatures are rare. |
