global warming Global warming has been in and out as the "latest" hot topic for many years. It is, according to modern scientists, the result of man-made industrial pollutants, clearing forested areas, agriculture, etc. But now they are thinking it started way before the Industrial Revolution...

Wow, and the sad thing is, I'm on the liberal left and yet I still don't find global warming that serious of an issue. Maybe on civilization though... But that's my video game world. But, maybe I've done more research on this and other area's of "Global Threats" and I don't find Global warming to be that threatening. IF the icecaps melt, we go into an ice age. Mankind has been there before. With our technology, we will not prevent another ice age. But, we can survive through it. Maybe not most of the population, but then again, it might be the earths way of establishing an "Equilibriam". Since over crowding and high population is taking it's toll, according to some stuff I've read before, the world might reach it's carrying capacity. Okay? So we reach teh earths capacity to feed it's inhabitants and reaches an all time high of Co2 production. Then an iceage or another world war occurs. IT may be a more perverse way of looking at it, but I do believe that this planet can take care of itself. It'll just destroy mostly everything and let it regrow.

Rather off topic, but...
I don't know if this is offtopic, but isn't kind of interesting to think, what if this has happened before. Like people became technologically advanced and then BOOM! the earth cleans itself, and mankind starts over agian? Sounds like a good Sci-fi novel what do you guys think?
