UN: 4 months till global warming kills us
Wonder what the UN is up to these days with the hundreds of millions in taxpayer money we give them every year? Don't worry, it's money well spent. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has been busy figuring out when global warming will destroy the earth, and he's decided that it's in about 120 days or so. Yeah, Ban Ki is really on top of things -- some long hard days at the office figuring that one out. Glenn reacts to the Moonster here. Ref. Source 3
Four months to live? Holy crow, we better get busy fixing that pesky Global Warming thing.
What twaddle.

I'm no scientific expert but here's what I think based on what I've read from both sides. There's a problem with pollution and its definitely affecting our environment. All you have to do is look at the air circulating over Beijing or Los Angeles and you know we are throwing too much pollutants in the sky. There is also the sea, nuclear waste and more and more every day by the tonnes. Does this all add up to global warming? Could be, but I think there's way too much hype and stupid ideas about the solution. I get that we need to cut back on certain things but we shouldn't be paying more for it. The whole incentive should be that by keeping the earth clean we also save money. Increasing taxes and basically throwing debt on us for what major factories do is not acceptable.

I think that you have a good attitude towards the situation.
I am all for reducing pollution in all ways. I like the fact that we have cars that run cleaner, that we have clean ways of producing electricity, etc. I don't like that government interferes by mandating higher taxes or interferes with construction of nuclear facilities that provide the best energy solutions currently possible.

I think government has to come in when its something that affects a whole bunch of people. We are like $270 million now? That's a lot of people to just let loose on the environment without any regulation. Now I think there are some policies that are ridiculous but I don't think we can get along just fine without some kind of intervention by the powers that be. If it weren't global warming then it would be toxic waste or dredging so rivers go elsewhere just for the sake of a real estate deal.

Where's the Warming?
The BBC reports today that the year with the highest global temperatures is, of course, 2008...No? 2007? Nope. 2006? Try again. Actually, 1998 was the warmest year on record. Hmmm, how about that - wasn't Miami supposed to be underwater by now? Global temperatures are not rising, but there is one thing that is rapidly increasing: Al Gore's net worth. In 2000, the goofy VP was worth about $2 million. Now he's worth over $100 million and stands to make much more off new 'green' technologies. Just another case of Jack and his magic beans, apparently. Ref. Source 8
