The way I see we're like the microbiology of the earth. What we do affects the bigger picture. We're like just specs but our impat is big time. I guess its like how an infection takes over our body, starts little by little until the whole body is sick. Each of us doing our part can make it better.

I love how we talk about "saving the planet". The planet has been around a lot longer than we have and it seems to be doing just fine...hot or cold. We aren't trying to save the planet, we are trying to save our current way of life. The planet is going to go on long after we die out as a species. We are trying to freeze this moment in time for our environment. However, the planet yet goes through cycles. Hot...to cold...to hot, lots of volcanic activity then little, lots of sun spots then surprisingly little.
If everyone on the planet started walking in the same direction, would the earth speed up or slow down in rotation? Would we be able to detect a difference? Sometimes specs are just specs and get brushed aside.

Ah, Gordon "Gold-seller" Brown is wanting to help "the poor" is he? This is the man who sold England's gold reserves for $250 an ounce (which, in case you hadn't noticed, is now valued over $1,000 an ounce). Now, he'd like to force his country and other countries into committing Billions of dollars/pounds/francs etc to "fight climate change." Anyone willing to trust his judgment? What exactly does he and Mr. Sarkozy believe will happen in these emerging nations - many of them known for rampant corruption - once they receive these funds? I vote "no."

The Biggest Scam in History
As each passing day goes by and we near the big climate convention in Copenhagen, one can't help but ask: Will anyone bother to bring up to the politicians the damming emails from climate scientists? Emails that at the very least should call into question the validity of 'settled' science. If you aren't familiar with Climategate, you are not alone, the media has barely touched on it. Climate-Gate: the emails that show scientists that report on the global temperatures talking about cooking the books to make their point.

Climate-change skeptics getting warmed up
Heading into one of the most important climate-change summits ever, global warming has an image problem. For the first time in 25 years, a majority of Americans rank economic concerns above environmental ones, a major poll shows. People also are exhibiting signs of what some environmental experts call "apocalypse fatigue." And now, they"re less confident in scientists" warnings about rising temperatures. Ref. Source 4
I believe any man-made contribution to any global warming itself, while the effect on US may be influential, is negligible in the factors that dictate the change itself, and I don't believe individual people have any significant so-called "carbon footprint" in this warming.
I think people and society should do what it can to become eco-friendly, but to be honest, we are a consumerist society, and it is going to be up to the governments, corporations, organizations and manufacturers and industry to change THEIR policies and materials and practices. Don't want someone to pollute the environment with plastic and its alleged million year "life span"? Don't make it for people to use. It's like a cigarette company saying "smoking is bad for your health" - if they actually cared, other than as a matter of course and requirement, they wouldn't make things that kill people.
