I know that site and will look into it. What I like and what I have seen is those who are paid to disprove global warming take photos of the polar regions during the times that they are facing away from the sun or their "Winter" periods. Those that want to prove we are in global warming tend to take photos of the polar regions when they are facing towards the sun or in the "Summer" seasons. I am a bit of a scientist myself I like to look at the summer, fall, winter and spring views of the polar regions and come to my own conclusions. I guess that is part of my, I will not believe what you tell me unless you can prove it and I can see it myself, philosophy.
Regarding the Paris Accords, President Trump pulled out because they make no sense. We in the US are already making a huge effort to clean up our pollution. Yet the BRIC countries, who are spewing a tremendous and growing amount of crap into the atmosphere, not only get a by in these accords, they get to grow that amount.
So, we spend a tremendous amount of money to allow other countries to overtake us because their industry doesn't have to be as clean as ours. This will cost a tremendous number of jobs in this country in the short term. Now, it may be better in the long term… but that is a gamble. I think President Trump want to renegotiate this from a position of strength rather than giving in to every single Chinese and Indian demand.
Glarion, you discuss Sweden paying a huge amount per citizen. That is all well and good, but Sweden isn't the issue. Like us and the rest of the west, Sweden's factories are clean. And the amount of hydrocarbons they spew into the air is negligible anyway. The issue isn't Sweden, the issue is Russia, China, Brazil, India, Turkey and half dozen other emerging industrial powers that want a free pass from Paris… and got it.
Yes, I realize this is one of the things we spoke about last night. But this is what a president has to do, he has to take our national interests into account first. And more than that, when he goes into the negotiation room, he needs to make sure what he's negotiating actually does what it says it's going to do.
Yes that is the main issue. China got a pass and they have spewed out more and more over the past few years and they are a key factor as is Russia. If these two countries would get on board and cut emissions like most of Europe and the US has done then maybe we could make some headway in this global warming.
OK I can understand that argument to a degree Ninja. I still think working together in the same "Club" is better than being on the outside trying to influence a result, just like we will soon be with Europe.

China are contributing financially and are making some strides in their attempts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, they are just putting their resources into another fund. Russia on the other hand I agree are not pulling their weight, as seems to be the same in any organisation they are a part of other than their own reasons for inclusion & actions such as the Crimea & Syria, where they followed their on agenda, even if it is at odds to the rest of the world!
However, and this is where I say I kind of understand but not fully, to use a football coach analogy, I wouldn't leave a club because one or more of the other players wouldn't play for the team, I would simply negotiate with the player to play as a team player and if they still did not then remove them from the club.
It is one thing to try and get your own country in order, but another thing entirely to exclude or alienate the rest of the world in so doing. America can only be great as part of a wider global community, solitary greatness has no meaning or impact, it is by comparison to others and in conjunction with others that one becomes and can be measured as being great *wink*.

Those hurricanes might start to get more intense if we don't do more to stop global warming. Those poor islands that don't even contribute to global warming are now the ones that pay the price because of pollution from bigger countries like American, Russia and the fog filled China.

Any place that has buses, cars and trucks that run on fossil fuels contribute to global warming. We all contribute to global warming if we drive our take public transportation. Even all those movie stars that complain how we all pollute and then drive away in their big SUVs.
Especially this movies stars that complain about my Dodge Ram while they drive off in a cavalcade of SUVs to get in their private jet that's taking them to their private yacht. Talk about the height of hypocrisy.
