In response to the delay in production for Spartacus: Vengeance (Spartacus Season 2), Starz has created a prequel to their highly popular Spartacus: Blood and Sand television series. The prequel will be known as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, and will take place at the ludus of Batiatus prior to the beginning of the original Spartacus show.
