Letterman Asks Oprah To 'hour Of Healing'

"NEW YORK (AP) -- David Letterman is inviting Oprah Winfrey to his "Super Bowl of Love." He shouldn't hold his breath.

Letterman's latest effort to end the feud between the talk show titans was an invitation, issued on the air Wednesday, to come on his show for an "hour of healing."

Winfrey has repeatedly spurned Letterman's entreaties. The daytime TV queen said she was uncomfortable during two previous appearances on Letterman's show.

"Both times I was sort of like the butt of his jokes," she said in a Time magazine interview. "I felt completely uncomfortable sitting in that chair, and I vowed I would not ever put myself in that position again."...

Healing hour Oprah Asks Letterman

Good for her. I hope she sticks to her guns. She went on his show twice and both times he made her uncomfortable, why should she give him a third shot at her? If it was once maybe he could say he didn't know he was offending her and ask her to come on so he could make it up to her. No way she should do this. He probably just wants her on because he knows his ratings will be through the roof if she comes on his show.

FYI, she was on Larry King the other night. Very interesting.

Letterman makes me laugh sometimes but other times he's cruel...he has some dark humour too, he cannot stand Oprah in my opinion, he is always talking about her on the show, I don't why is that, he is like obsess to make the woman (Oprah) feel uncomfortable or dumb....

I used to watch Letterman every night before we moved here. I really loved the show. I just don't like how I can't pick up that channel anymore.

But, it was like a goal for him to get Oprah on his show again. He had said on his show in the past that he has even tried to get her to let him on her show. But turned him down.

If he is making her feel like the butt of his jokes then he should just let sleeping dogs lie and forget about it.

When I read this news on CNN, I could not believe a judge will actually grant such order. It seems obvious to me that this lady is mentally unstable. You judge for yourself, read the whole article.

Letterman subject of restraining order

SANTA FE, New Mexico (AP) -- Lawyers for David Letterman want a judge to quash a restraining order granted to a Santa Fe woman who contends the CBS late-night host used code words to show he wanted to marry her and train her as his co-host.

A state judge granted a temporary restraining order to Colleen Nestler, who alleged in a request filed last Thursday that Letterman has forced her to go bankrupt and caused her "mental cruelty" and "sleep deprivation" since May 1994.

Nestler requested that Letterman, who tapes his show in New York, stay at least 3 yards away and not "think of me, and release me from his mental harassment and hammering."....

I think David Letterman is very ordinary. He might crack an occasional joke that makes you smirk but I find his humour dry and boring. He has one joke at the start of his show and continues delivering it even when he doesn't get a response.

I'm glad Oprah is not bothering with him.
