Helpful tips for live radio broadcasting
Try to listen to all the radio station programs of your area, you will not believe how much you can learn just listening. Also, try to look for mistakes and take note of it. It will help you to not commit the same errors when you are on the air.
Record your voice on a tape recorder and listen to your voice several times, get accustom to hearing yourself. Its very important that you know your voice and how you can improve your expression and tones. Practice simulating you are an announcer with your own radio program.
Put a pencil between your teeth and try to talk and read with clarity. It will not be easy at the beginning but it will help you to open your mouth and pronounce each word correctly. Do this exercise every day, several times.
When you are interviewing somebody, don't let the person control the interview. You're the one that asks and the person is the one that answers. Be specific with your questions and pay attention if the person answered what you asked. Always look straight into their eyes, it will help you to connect with the person in all senses and distinguish lies from truth.
Read fluently. A person that knows how to read properly, knows how to talk properly, too. It's important that you know what you are reading since in radio the time goes so fast that sometimes you have just 2 minutes to read the news or a story before giving a brief explanation of it.
Don't eat sweets or chocolate when you're talking on the radio. Chocolate is the 'forbidden food' for announcers since it sticks all over your teeth making speech in radio very difficult.
If you need to cough or sneeze while you are talking on the radio, do it only after letting the listeners know you are about to do so. Its not most resolve for that problem, but it is better than being silent or suddenly throwing on a CD. Silence in radio is terrible and a obvious lack of professionalism and experience.
Don't talk too much if you are doing a music program. The people want to listen to just a few words and lots of music.
Be aware of the latest events and news around the world. A good announcer and journalist must know what's going on in the world.
Be open to suggestions and good criticism. There are plenty things you'll learn every day, the audience will help you a lot in this. Smile and enjoy your work!

Lee fluidamente. Una persona que sabe como leer apropiadamente, sabe como hablar apropiadamente. Es importante que sepas lo que estás leyendo [Yes] que en la radio el tiempo pasa tan rápido que a veces tienes solamente 2 minutos para leer las noticias ó una historia antes de dar una breve explicación.
No comas dulces ó chocolate cuando estes hablando en la radio. El chocolate es la 'comida prohibida' para los locutores [Yes] que se pega en todos tus dientes haciendo muy dificil el hablar.
Si necesitas toser ó estornudar mientras estás hablando en la radio, hazlo solo despues de hacerle saber a los oyentes lo que harás. No es la mejor de las soluciones al problema, pero es mejor que quedarse en silencio ó tirar un CD de repente. El silencio en radio es terrible y es una obvia falta de profesionalismo y experiencia.
No hables demasiado si estás haciendo un programa musical. La gente quiere escuchar solo pocas palabras y mucha música.
Este atento a los ultimos eventos y noticias alrededor del mundo. Un buen locutor y periodista debe saber lo que está pasando en el mundo.
Mantente abierto a sugerencias y buena crÃtica. Hay muchÃsimas cosas que aprenderás dÃa a dÃa, la audiencia te ayudará un montón en esto. SonrÃe y disfruta tu trabajo!

During her visit to Buenos Aires, her manager and herself were trying to leave the hotel but there were so many fans all around them and their car that it was almost impossible to leave normally. They drove off so fast that a police officer stopped them and asked them for their identification. The Manager of Madonna was driving the car and said to the policeman: "Don't you know who we are?". Answer to the question: Both of them arrested for speeding and for not having ID.
Eric Clapton:
He went to eat in a nice Restaurant but he didn't have a reservation so one girl that works there told him that he could not eat there since all the tables were reserved. Clapton's Manager insisted and the girl said a definitive "No" And she got angry because they were insisting so much. So the guy said: "Do you know who is this gentleman?" While pointing to Eric Clapton and she said, "No, I don't know who he is and I don't wanna know". Well, Eric Clapton was so amazed for her attitude that later on invited the girl on a date! A week later he called her to invite her to Brazil in his own private plane. She accepted the invitation there but with a condition: That her two little brothers accompany them. They made a song specially for them and their great work and courage trying to find out what happened with their children.

In his trip to Argentina, he visited many children in hospitals in Buenos Aires. The Media was unaware of it since Michael didn't want anybody to know. We knew about it because a woman said that he payed thousands of dollars for a heart transplant for her child and he did the same thing with other children in the same situation.
