Q. What is the difference between a suspended account and a banned account?
A. First of all 'account' refers to your membership. If your account or membership is suspended it means that you are still a member, but you may not be allowed to post messages and /or visit the forum for a certain period set by the moderator and /or administrator. If you are banned then your account is deleted.
Q. Why would I be suspended?
A. After many warnings you choose to continue actions on this forum that are opposed to the rules and policies, such as being rude, posting in the wrong places, not making sense in what you write (just wasting posts), etc.
Q. Why would I be banned?
A. Spamming! Posting nude photos, using sexual innuendos and /or being a predator. If you were suspended before and cause trouble then you will not be suspended a second time - you will be banned.
Q. How will I know if I am banned or suspended?
A. Your most recent post will normally contain a message from a moderator or administrator or advocate or enforcer concerning the status of your account. If you are suspend you will be able to read it usually. If you are banned you will find that the forum no longer recognizes your membership, so your username and password will be null and void.
Q. If I am suspended and want to come back?
A. You will have a 'probation' period where your actions and posts will be observed, if you are found to continue to disobey the rules of this forum then you will be immediately deleted without hesitation.
Q. What if I am banned and want to come back?
A. You must agree to keep the rules of this forum and then make a donation before the administrator has to reopen your account.
Q. Why should I have to make a donation when I can just open a new account?
A. Constantly moderating a member that causes a lot of trouble costs BOTH time and money. You help to cover that by showing you are willing to be serious in your presence here. It does not matter if you open a new account, we will have your IP and other 'signs' of your presence will re-appear in your messages.
Q. What are some other examples of reasons I can be suspended?
A. The following are examples, but there are more reasons than one if you try to bend the rules...
1. Posting wildly in order to increase forum points
2. Posting messages that really have nothing to do with the subject of the thread
3. Being rude to another member
4. Harassing members using either the forum and or information you got about them through this forum, such as ICQ, Yahoo, their Email, etc.
5. Making the Role-playing Game stories a reason to argue and cause discord with other members. (There are methods outlined in the Medieval rules for disagreements)
6. Telling other members or users untruths and /or negative statements that would belittle this site and /or its moderators.
7. Unsubscribing from the Newsletter. (Your Email address is deleted and banned)
Q. I had a great character in the game, but because I was suspended or banned he died or went back to the Village/home. Now that I am a member again can I get my character back?
A. If your character died, make a donation. If you joined a game and then left in the middle of the game and expect to play again when you return you will need to make a donation.
Q. How long will I be suspended /banned for?
A. Suspension is based on the rules you broke and your past actions on this forum. It can be from a couple of days to a couple of weks. If after two weeks you choose to do nothing about your account it will be deleted. Banned members are deleted permanatly, they will need to make a donation to show their seriousness in returning. Making a past donation does not mean you can't be suspended or banned again if you continue to break the forum rules.
Q. Making amends?
A. If you publicly insulted any member of this forum then it will be necessary for you to publicly apologise as part of your becoming a full member again.
Q. Who decides if I am suspended or banned?
A. There is a hidden board that the moderators meet in to vote and decide if a member should be suspended, banned or left alone. However, this is only if it is questionable in the case of one member or moderator acussing another member or moderator. Also, if it is apparent that it is an open spam or porn related post then the Administrator will delete accounts immediately with no questions asked.
Q. Can I get another member to post on my behalf while I am suspended?
No! A member that is suspended should not participate through another member else what would be the purpose of the suspension? Members that are in good standing that encourage this can themselves be suspended.
