It seems like Immigration in the US has a "heart" after all. Thanks to the community support and the evaluation of this case, this boy and his family will be allowed to stay in the US for two years and renew the permission afterwards.

An ailing 9-year-old Queens boy now has a new lease on life after a two-month-long deportation battle ended on a positive note this week.

Omar Audi, who needs medication available only in the U.S., learned on Tuesday that his parents Dania Tafran and Rawi Audi have been given a two-year reprieve from being deported to Lebanon.

"I almost feel like I'm flying," Tafran said of the decision by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's New York Office.

"I'm so happy for my family," the ecstatic mom said.

She and her husband were facing deportation because their visas expired in 2008. They were visiting relatives in Queens when Omar got sick.

He suffers from a life-threatening condition called hereditary angioedema, which causes rapid internal and external swelling that requires injections every three days. Let's say in that two year period they are able to get the drug in their own country will they be going back? Or maybe there can be arrangements made to ship supplies to him months in advance so he never runs out.
