Reina isn't happy about the situation and moreso, because noone is out there with the duke.
"This isn't good. I think that Heric and I should go first as warriors and try to find a way out. Kettle and Alex should stay here, unless you hear somthing (maybe like one of us as fallen and can't get up) then Alex should run and check it out. By and by if this place is empty and we find nothing does anyone have rope?"
==============================================
Not to run into your territory alex i was just suggesting some possible ideas for us to follow. Always the final decision is yours to make. I was thinking if we have long rope then I or Heric should be able to climb down and maybe be able to use the handle(?) on the other side of the door to open it or somthing. ooc: i'll be back on in 2 or 3 hours.
I would like to investigate our surroundings,examine every detail.Then I can give some more input.No windows?Hmmmm.Is there an odor of any kind?
So LaReina and I can check this tower out,while kettle,and alex use some of their 'skills' to try and work the door open.Thats the best thing I can come up with,without getting some more info on our surroundings,that is.
Whomever stays at the door should keep listen to the out side for any scuffle ,or sounds of a struggle.(I just dont want to lose the Duke already)((I would laugh)).

the GM didn't actually say that we couldn't open the door, he said there was no door handle. Have we tried pushing on it?? He said it "seems to" close shut... that's not the same as locking. Let's calm down and think for a minute....
Where is the "small hole" at the top of the tower? Is there a stairway or a ladder?
Who is holding the torch? Light up every corner, please Let's explore this "mud hut on boulders" to see what's what, before we go charging off half-crazy.
Let's listen for a bit at the door (thieves are good at listening, if we can all get quiet enough for a couple of minutes) and see if we can hear any activity.
My questions and suggestions:
Try pushing the door -- if that doesn't work, use the torch to see the outline of it, and maybe we can pop the hinges off to open it.
Hold that torch up high and get the layout of the tower. How big is it? Is it round or are there corners? Are there any other doors?? Is there a staircase or ladder, and how high up is that hole at the top? How big is that "small" hole at the top?
If we need a rope, all of us could trim a strip of cloth from the bottom of a cloak or tunic and then we could tie the strips together to make a longer piece. Not a very strong rope, but might be useful in a pinch.
Do you think we should move out of place until we can map out the floorplan?
I also wonder if we should stick to our original party order, that goes basically "warrior, thief...warrior thief" so that we don't lose both warriors at once just because they are both up front?
--------------//------------------------------\\-------------------------
With heart pounding, Kettle peers into the darkness of the tower room, the dust kicked up from the slamming door tickling her nose and the back of her throat. The torch light almost obscures any detail of the room, as it sheds light in a circle that ends just a few feet away. She turns and runs her hands deftly over every inch of the door to make sure there is no handle...
"Who is the strongest... let's see if you can push this thing open."
She draws her dagger and readies herself to react quickly...

(the GM makes us sound like the Keystone Kops all of us charging the door at the same time...)
i have a pick. one of those key picks i could give it to one of you thieves' . Also it could be a riddle or trap or somthing. okay kettle i guess that's cool. so first i guess we are going to be really quiet so kettle and alex can try and hear somthing, then we are going to try and push, pull or somthing on the door. Then after that we are going to go Reina, Alex, Heric, Kettle, (warrior, thief, warrior, thief) or is it Reina, Heric, Alex, Kettle (?).Then we are gonna check out this hut on boulders.
==============================================
Still not liking the situation we are in Reina looks at Heric then herslef. "I guess Heric and I might be the strongest here, Kettle, and I have a pick if one of you are more experienced with it than I it might come it handy. Okay do you hear anything from the Duke or the old man; like some kind of instrustions or laughter." Turning to Heric the other warrior. "Do you want to try pushing on the door Heric?"
Good point FarSeer and Reina. I'll put in the Party Order that we try to push the door once more and also try to get the layout of the tower.

Staying together is a good idea,so lets investigate the tower and go from there.The party order looks good for whatever we end up doing.
(I will just say that I believe the Duke is up to something,I dont know what,but something).
I will push on the door with the might of the titans!Keep a look out.
Feeling Alex's clammy hand on her mouth Reina clamps down her own hand ontop of his and prys it off. "Look! Look!" Hoping he sees that they are leaving us behind Reina scoots over so that the wood doesn't break beneath us. Coming back down the stairs to where it was safe Reina told them what she saw.

Okay maybe I'm not allowed to say what i did without the GM's approval, but i thought it would be best if we got off the steps and the wooden plank. Also since there is nothing upstairs of interest or of help the only other way is downstairs underground. Maybe this is a test from the duke? We'll find our way out catch up and...and... i don't know demand answers. okay i have a short sword and a pick. i think since we are going underground can a warrior carry a torch and a sword and effectivally fight off anything that comes up?
