USS Independence

The $220 million Independence is the second in the new Littoral Combat Ship class of vessels, which the Navy has said will eventually replace the aging fleet of guided missile frigates stationed at Mayport. Ref. Source 3

To say the ship looks odd is a understatement. I guess we will have to see what this ship and others like it can really do before I pass judgement on them. I think a faster moving ship can do greater good.
