Trinidad Vigilante Groups
What are your thoughts about the recent actions of Trinidadians to perform vigilante 'justice' on those they deem to be criminals?
Recently, a man used his car to run over two bandits killing one and injuring the other. The government is calling out to citizens to not take the law into their own hands. I believe locals are getting fed up. With police now on strike bandits may feel they have an 'upper hand' an attack citizens even more brazenly than they have before, in fact I believe one family had this happen to them recently. I will add that I also agree that citizens should NOT take the law into their own hands because this is not the wild West, however the government needs to act with more urgency in resolving issues with the police force quickly as well as take the security of citizens better than they have been doing.

Comments: If you can't depend on the police to protect you then what should you do? Turn all you goods over to the Bandits and thank him for leaving you with nothing...Hell no! Protect yourself. But avoid placing yourself in compromising positions, but it they come into your home you must protect your family.

Comments: Is crime so bad there that people have to fight against the criminals to protect themselves?
A case of a 16 year old bandit who went to rob a bar and ended up being beaten to death by the same people he went to rob on the 26th April, 2015 is now reaching the media. Some have congratulated the vigilante group while others say they took it too far, what are your thoughts?

Comments: Complaining here about lawlessness, the failure of the police to deal with crime together wit the corruption within the judiciary is pointless. The politicians too are completely useless when it come to having or doing anything effective to stem the flow of escalating crime here. All they do is offer lip service .They have in fact lost control of our police system which have now become a law onto themselves. The police now apparently only offer protection to those of status especially the corrupt and the Mr Bigs. They have now become immune to crimes such as murders and kidnappings. They don't even report kidnapping any more and have in fact made it another acceptable crime here to accompany corruption. The police seem now belong to a sort of Mafia club. It is therefore not surprising that our ordinary citizens now have to defend themselves and their families by taking matters into their own hands ,and it about time they did so.
