Powell was shot about the body and tossed out of a vehicle near Low Cost Supermarket, Eastern Main Road, Barataria shortly before 9 a.m. On Friday.

Police said a passer-by who observed the victim on the ground in a pool of blood took him to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he died while undergoing surgery.

Officers said the victim had addresses in Santa Cruz and Laventille Road, San Juan, and was last seen alive by a female companion on Thursday night when he left her home in Santa Cruz for an unknown destination.
