Karene Asche is the new 2011 Calypso Monarch. She was also the youngest ever to win beating all the veterans. There are loads of upsets this time around.

I'm happy that the Calypso Monarch's first prize is $1,000,000 and not $500,000. Why should other competitions like Soca and Chutney Soca get $1,000,000 and not Calypsonians.
