I was reading online that Cerebral Palsy is the second most expensive disability after mental disabilities
with an average lifetime cost per person of USD$921,000! (in the USA)
I was wondering, how is it in Trinidad? Does your child able to get the proper medical attention he/she needs through a public hospital? What kind of treatments do they offer?

Comments: [..] I am not sure if this is the right place to place this question but my sister in law is in dire need of help for her son that has cerebral palsy. She is in an abusive relationship and I am afraid for the safety of her child. She wants to put him in a home and I think its the best thing for him because the don't care for him.I tried the Lady Hochoy home but they don't take children anymore. Can you please tell me where she get a home for him.
Afeisha I'm very sorry to hear about your sister in law and nephew. Please contact the Social Development Ministry and see if they can guide you as to what are the options. Ensuring the safety of this child is extremely important at this point.
