I hope he wins because the authorities and the system failed. He spent nearly two decades behind bars for a wrongful murder conviction.

international QUOTE
A man who served nearly two decades behind bars for a wrongful murder conviction wants more than $30 million in damages for his ordeal, The New York Post reports.

Fernando Bermudez filed suit in Manhattan federal court against the city and the cops and prosecutors who put him away.

In 1992, Bermudez, then 22, was found guilty of fatally shooting 16-year-old Raymond Blount outside the Marc Ballroom in Union Square following a fight inside the club. Source 5

Thanks for that link lds, often I wonder if those people who were released from jail for being innocent if they would sue because if I was in their shoes that's the first thing I would be doing.

Well you would, wouldn't you? That poor man! He lost his life and innocence (and goodness knows what else) inside and he is given a sorry and let go? Gosh, I hope he survives and wins his case!
