Why the US is intervening on this Libya affair? Don't take me wrong, I feel sorry for the people and all but we have bigger issues here in our country to deal with than be counseling the military of ANOTHER country how they should proceed.

US prepares to launch Libya attack:
The US Senate has unanimously passed a resolution calling for a no-fly zone over Libya. The US Senate Armed Services Committee said all options, including the military option, should be on the table. Ref. Source 3
This is unfortunate, because a previous statement by Gates said in no uncertain terms that a no-fly zone would be preceded by destroying Libya's airforce, which means, unless there is something else going on I cannot guess at, a direct US/NATO assault on Libya is imminent.
The STABLE Middle-Eastern countries actually ought to be the ones to be doing something, but the US probably wouldn't like that either. There appears to be no good solution for this.

It is another Iraq in the making and there is a lot of oil interests there to 'protect'. Anytime you are talking oil and it cannot be produced efficiently enough then military might comes next. I'm deeply concerned about how many wars America can maintain. Just now we will end up in every country in the Middle East and will have to go back to the draft to keep up!
