Hunting Hitler examines the many plots that existed, as early as 1933, that sought to assassinate Hitler or at least remove him from power. There was an attempt that occurred in 1939, when anti-Nazi activist Georg Elser planted a bomb in Munich's Bürgerbräukeller, the speaking hall where Hitler had given one of his most incendiary speeches that led him to power and where he was scheduled to return to speak to an audience of thousands.

Truth is many did not like Hitler. We cannot group all of Germany as one. Hitler seized power by brutal means, mass murder actually. Once in power he continued his madness much to the dislike of many of his own generals who felt he was just killing his own people slowly in a war that could not be won.
