You search the room again but find nothing significant other than the control panel that is now locked. Greg returns with an environ suit, a hand beam which can light up a significant area of a room and a first aid kit. He rests them on the floor while dusting off some flakes from his body suit.
"You're lucky, I was able to get one more suit and here is a light source for you."
He doesn't mention the first aid kit. As he talks you can see he is a bit edgy about having you all in the base's main control room. He seems to delay returning to the control panel and is waiting for you to return to the underground.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Greg returns to the console but seems to be delaying in using it until your presence in the room is finished.
Josh puts on the environ suit with some assistance from those of you more expert in such things.
You head back down the ladder. Major is in the lead with his hand beam and gun occupying his hands. Uhura follows close behind with her detector.
GM: It wasn't clear... Is Thomas and Josh also going down the ladder?
With everyone now with an environ suit on you decide to once again venture down to the underground levels. AS you go down the ladder you go straight to the floor that was dark. Uhura uses her detector but finds nothing harmful within the area. The light beam you now have illuminates the hallway that has the same layout of the one you visited above with doors closed.
As you look on you hear the above Arctic base's main control room door leading to your location suddenly close and make a hissing sound as though it is pressurized!
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
The sudden closure of your only exit makes you become on edge. Some in the group pound frantically on the chamber door as though they are suffering with claustrophobia. They use their hands to feel a way out, but there is none. Your sense of awareness doubles as you feel sealed into a huge 'coffin'.
Uhura calls to Greg via her suit's radio to ask about the reason behind this. There seems to be a long delay in his response followed by static then Greg says,
"Just a safety precaution, [static] we don't know what's down there [static], please continue."
You then hear more static and then the connection is broken. You look at each other and your options while talking very fast and hyper ventilating.
Then mysteriously you hear Greg again,
"Move along, you don't have to stay [static] on the ladder..."
You suddenly realize he can see and track your movements as well as hear you! Your heart pounds as you feel trapped, anger sets in as you regret not acting more on your suspicions of Greg's involvement in the whole affair.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Unamused by your predicament you decide to continue to explorer the lower floors of the Arctic base. As you go down the ladder to Basement Floor 2 your new beam shines the way. Uhura finds nothing abnormal on her detector but you see a lot of blood smeared everywhere. You gather by the first door to the West and with the usual sentry and intrusion positions you push it open. Major shines his light and what you see causes you to be quite upset. There is a man lying on the ground with sucken eyes starring upwards all bloodied and decomposing. By the neck area you notice there is a big whole. The rest of room has containers of what looks like dry food packages.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
The containers in the room have dried food packages that could probably allow survival for months if rationed.
Uhura uses her skills to decipher the cause of death. From an initial observation she notices the hole by the neck was caused by teeth marks that bit that section of the body causing the hole and allowing for massive hemorrhaging to take place. Oddly, there isn't as much blood on the ground if the body were allowed to drain its blood supplies where it laid.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Uhura continues to monitor her detector but finds nothing harmful. Having just discovered the poor victim in the West room has you on edge in addition to your precarious position with no exit in sight from the Artic base's underground levels leaves you jumpy.
You pursue the East door with the usual assault. Formation As you open the door and shine your beam you are immediately confronted with an odd sight... A man is on the floor shaking in the fetal position dressed casually with boots on. You call out to him but he is not responsive. He seems to be either very afraid or very cold. You shine the light around the room and see to one corner a slumped figure of a man with mucus and vomit slowly dripping out of his mouth, he does not seem responsive either.
GM: The man who is shaking is Nathan, he is in a current state of shock and is suffering with amnesia. It will be up to Bruconero to role-play him into your group. Nathan starts with a -2HP penalty.
Say what you wish to do now.
Nathan's screams causes Greg to come over your comm link,
"What was that, oh, I see, I think he was one of the lab techs here."
You wonder how Greg can see what is going on so easily. Josh then decides to ask Greg if it is safe to take off the environ suits to which Greg says,
"What does your chemical detector say? Better keep them on for safety"
Then Josh asks about the cause of death of the deceased in the West room. Greg responds,
"I don't know, please examine the body and let me know, I think one of you has a background in forensics.... Let me check..."
You hear Greg pressing some buttons and then he says,
"Ah yes, Uhura can let you know, let me know as well please."
You get the man to calm down a bit and check him over as he rests on the floor. You notice a small print and a bit of swelling on his head, possibly he suffered from a concussion from being hit with a blunt object.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
