Neihao decides to act the part of mortally wounded as many of the men now come up the stairs.
GM: Roll D20 against Soul. I also need new combat rolls for Neihao.
Meanwhile...
Lady Godiva is fortunate that the darkness aides her flight as she quickly disappears into the East City crowds hoping to reach back to the Village without any event.
Meanwhile...
Jonathon awakes half conscious only to recognize the face of the demon he saw before. He is now bound underneath it while men in robes gather around him in an expressionless gaze. Jonathon, too weak to do anything, slowly slips away.
GM: Thomaslee is out of the game.
Lady Godiva will have an uneventful trip to the Village but she will get there very tired and thus retires to her hut for rest until the next day.
Prior to this...
Neihao's fake performance does not get him any extra leverage on the men coming up the stairs but it does not matter anyway because their own performance in combat is very poor and Neihao gets the upper hand. Neihao fights viciously until all those around him are on the ground in one bloody mess. Now with his path clear and the rest of men in the dungeon parts underneath Tavern he sees an opening to go right through the front door of the Inn, and he does! He disappears into the crowds and makes his way to the Village with his wounds still unattended.
GM: The character's day will finish here. I will give some time for a regroup, Party Leader to be chosen and new characters to be created before continuing. All current Threads remain open as this Scenario has not been solved and some of the participants still live.
With the four of you together as a party you decide to make your way back to the Village Elder's council chambers in order to find out more about the Dark Cleric.
The Elders are surprised to see you and ask you to report all that happened. Upon hearing your story their faces become concerned and they share their thoughts.
"The Dark Cleric will now try to escape!" one of the Elders heckles.
The other Elders agree and you are amazed when they reveal their knowledge about your entry into the Inn and thought you were in pursuit of the Dark Cleric already.
The head of the council speaks,
"Quick... The last we heard is he is gathering a small contingent of his followers and heading South if he isn't there already."
They quickly bid you farewell so as to not delay your trip any longer.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
You bad together and head towards the South as fast as you can on foot.
With most of the day already near completion and your slow mode of travel you foresee a camp in the plains unless you walk throughout the night to arrive at the Southern range in the morning. You ponder this until you approach near the Southern edge of the Village's forest when you spot two hunters on horseback coming towards you from the South East.
You assume they are hunters based on their clothing and an elk draped over one of their horses.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
The hunters salute you.
They explain that they have been hunting for the past five days and the game was scarce. They also mention seeing a caravan coming from the North East and heading South about 30 minutes ago. They then ask,
"Friends of yours?"
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
The hunters say that it was one covered black wagon that was both elegant and strongly fitted. They continue,
"There were about two horsemen and a couple on foot that looked like soldiers for hire."
They then bid you farewell as they rub their stomachs and claim to have not eaten a good meal in days.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
You walk in as quick a pace as you can leaving the forest of the Village behind. Miles into your journey the sun sets and the evident dry barren plains are apparent. By the time it is almost total darkness you stop for awhile taking rest and pondering if to make a camp.
GM: Around now you would have finished 1 skin of water and 1 ration.
You estimate that you have another day ahead of you to get to Death's Mouth as you catch your breath. While looking towards the South you begin to realize that you are not the only ones that are within the vicinity. You can see a faint lighted camp about two miles ahead but you are too far to know what it is all about. You wonder if it is the caravan the hunters referred to earlier.
GM: Please say what you wish to do now in specific fashion, no generalizations as it may affect the outcome of the scenario. Thanks.
As stealthy as possible Neihao approaches the caravan camp about 150 feet away. He sees some men gathered around a campfire but cannot make out much of anything so he moves a little closer and stumbles on a rock thus falling to the ground with a thud and slight moan.
"What was that?"
You can hear from the caravan camp as another man says,
"Shine a torch..."
Then other,
"Go check it out..."
GM: Say what you wish to do now. Note, the others are oblivious to what is going on.
