Neihao frantically looks for cover, but this area is rough and barren so there is no cover to utilize. Neihao begins to retreat slowly while now there is a lot of activity in the caravan camp. He can hear,
"Quick, gather the horses and let's check this out."
"Wait, I think I see something... It's over there... It's over there."

Neihao decides his best option is to panic and then run two miles back to the party. Neihao is fast, his physical stamina also very helpful in such a situation, but only after starting his daring run does he think about being able to outrun horses. He hears their hooves in the background and by the looks of it they have not exactly found your position but they are getting closer.
Meanwhile...
The camp is unaware of what Neihao faces.

Neihao goes to the ground and hides himself using his cloak. In doing this Neihao believes that it will save him from being caught. He is right about his move as he hears the horses hooves trot back to the camp.

Even though he almost suffered an I'll fate Neihao decides to resume his former spy tasks on the caravan camp. The first thing he notes is that everyone within the caravan camp seems to be packing up and getting ready to journey but to where he does not yet know as he is still too far away to hear any conversation. Neihao does see a couple of the men, possibly mercenaries, standing guard in your direction.
Meanwhile...
The others in the party begin a walk through the darkness following the distant lights of the caravan camp.

Neihao manages to stay out of site and finds that the caravan is now moving forward in a casual slow pace towards the South, perhaps for Death's Mouth. As they begin to hold a couple of torches to lead the way Neihao does manage to catch a glimpse of a symbol partially hidden on the armor of one of the horsemen that he saw in the East City's Inn underground worship chamber. This confirms a greater possibility that the Dark Cleric might be with them.

Determined to keep up with the slow moving caravan, Neihao moves carefully behind them leaving a space of about 150 feet.Neihao is sure they are destined for Death's Mouth but he is not sure of his other party members and wonders if he shouldn't stop and try to inform them. At the current pace it will still probably be 3 or more hours before you get to Death's Mouth.
Meanwhile...
The rest of the party pick up their pace. They can determine that the caravan is moving and it makes them wonder about Neihao. A decision has to be made, do they go towards the place where the caravan made a camp or follow the current lights.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
For both parties the trek is difficult - you stumble at times and moving in the dark is not a certain chore. After about 20 grueling minutes Neihao starts hearing noises to the back of him but sees nothing, however it is worrisome and he becomes concerned as thoughts of spirits and ghosts fills his mind.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Neihao hears faint calls to his name from behind and is surprised to see the rest of his party has joined him. You discuss your current position while you see the lights from the caravan ahead slowly but steadily moving towards the South. You can only see about four torches lit but it is too dark to make out the details of anything save for the aforementioned light source.
