Three of you move carefully into the cave and do not immediately need light until you peer around the bend of the cave and see that it is a large passageway that leads into the darkness. Neihao, who is in front of anyone, lights a torch and it reveals a large wooden door shut about 40 feet ahead.
GM: Say what you wish to do here.
Neihao checks for traps and is unable to find any so he moves forward to try and open the heavy solid door but it is locked. He tries to pick it open but fails.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
GM: Generally once you roll and fail, that's it. You don't keep trying again until one day has passed or in other words you 'sleep on it'. The roll assumes you exhausted your effort trying to pick the lock / find a trap, etc.
You try picking at the lock but it is no easy task, it also looks like others may have tried before. The rusted metal in the key chamber just refuses to budge.
Meanwhile...
As some wind blows from the South Dante could swear he heard 'something' but looking that way he sees nothing, but it does make him edgy.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
You head deeper into the passage South and are somewhat surprised by how 'quiet' it has been thus far.
After about 15 minutes on horseback you see two caves to the left about 300 feet ahead.
You stop to look without being seen. At your distance and from what you can gauge the cave entrances are about 30 feet apart and parked in between them is a heavy black wagon with a couple of bandits loading something into it. The wagon probably has horses drawing it but you are not sure from your position.
You know that if you stay where you are now someone might pick up on your presence.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
You decide to charge the bandits by the wagon using your arrows and the speed of the horses. In doing so the bandits see you from a distance and cry out about your presence. They then try to make a dash for the other side of the wagon.
GM: I need combat rolls from everyone to continue. As soon as I get all of them I will update the Scenario.
Neihao and Lady Godiva shoot arrows but only Lady Godiva's arrow hits it's target precisely killing one of the bandits on spot, but the other escapes into the cave as far as you can tell.
By the time you get up to the wagon there is no one there with which to contend. The heavy black wagon is closed up and there are two horses ready to pull it.
GM: Say what you wish to do now. Attached is an image of what the enclosed wagon may look like.
The Dark Cleric - Medieval RPG (Hover)
Neihao attaches his bear trap to one of the wagon wheels. he notices the wagon horses are uptight with your presence. The teeth of it barely penetrates the hard wood and metal wheel. he then heads towards the cave closest to him (Southern cave) looking for traps.
GM: Was that 29 a recent roll? If so I will use that.
Neihao finds nothing at the entrance and sees a tunnel leading deep into the darkness straight ahead.
John watches on as Lady Godiva hits the windows with her weapon and nothing happens, she does the same with the main door and likewise there is no result. She decides to open the door... No one is inside but she is amazed that it is all colored black and dark the same as the outside of the finely but well secured wagon. On the floor of the wagon is a closed large wood and metal chest. There is room for four inside, the seats are elegantly fitted for the most comfort.
Dante secures the horses, in this place the best option is to tie them to the wagon. He also checks the brakes on the wagon.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Dante goes over by the cave where Neihao was... As he stands there he perks his ears wondering if he is hearing something coming from within the cave.
Meanwhile...
Neihao approaches the chest with caution as he inspects, finds nothing amiss and then pulls out his tools and starts plugging away at the chest. A click can be heard and Neihao knows he has success in opening it. As he begins to place his hands to raise the lid you all hear...
"Wolves!"
Dante screams as he hears the ferocious beasts running towards him from within the cave.
GM: Say what you will do now.
